My Role

Adiology is a beloved page on Instagram.  A platform for single-sentenced stories that deliver impactful stories in the most concise way possible. It is a revolution in creative writing that has a potential to  forever changing our views on stories, content creation, and universally raising the bar for quality expectations across literary content creators. It's unlikely you across any of their posts without being impacted by the story. 

As the brand designer, I took the charge of refining the the brand strategy, brand elements, and the brand identity. ​

The Challenge
The challenge was starting from scratch. They had a vision of what they would like to be and how they expect people to react when they come across their platform, but they didn't know where to start.

A core function of a logo is to be distinctive, and while humbly sitting in the background of all the great stories they represent. They needed a logo that could match well with the content while standing out and speaking for itself. A logo that could represent the challenges in life, invites people in, and is impactful. 

Logo Concepts

The solution was to create a symbol, one that stemmed from the idea of flowing against the currents, climbing the mountains, and peace within chaos. Along with standalone identification on Adiology stories, the new symbol allows for a variety of co-branding opportunities. 

The complex form, constructed within an oval, allows for consistent use and immediate recognition even in the most limiting of situations. The abstract mark leaves plenty of room for interpretation. 

Logo concept evolution

Consistency of appearance in all sizes and locations was paramount for the new symbol. By adhering to a set of simple structural guidelines we established how the Unsplash icon can scale seamlessly. ​
